Apartment Investment and Management Company, known as Aimco, is an American publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) based in Denver, Colorado. As of December 31, 2023, it owned 26 apartment communities comprising a total of 5,940 apartment units in the United States. The company was founded in 1975 by Terry Considine and became publicly traded in 1994.
